Roles & responsibilities
- Perform advanced microbiological testing including sterility testing, endotoxin analysis, and microbial identification
- Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment including MALDI-TOF MS and automated systems
- Develop and validate new testing methods and procedures
- Review and verify test results performed by junior microbiologists
- Mentor and train junior staff members on laboratory techniques and protocols
- Investigate out-of-specification results and implement corrective actions
- Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation
- Participate in internal and external audits as a subject matter expert
Requirements
- Master's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical or clinical microbiology
- Proficiency with MALDI-TOF MS and automated microbiology systems
- Strong understanding of USP chapters and FDA regulations
- Experience with environmental monitoring programs
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
